A contest for young film-makers, a prestigious event to be set in Venice, a worldwide-known President of the Jury - and a powerful initiative to support the heart's health. That's the setting of HAB 2011, the brand new short film festival, to have its peak in October, when the best works - chosen by six-times Academy Award winner director Francis Ford Coppola - will be given the right acknowledgments during the Awards Ceremony.
HAB - HeArtBeats Venice Film Festival - is the first international short film festival promoted and coordinated by Stalker and organized by Adria Congrex as a side event of Venice Arrhythmias 2011, the famous, biannual cardiological meeting.
The festival has its focus on launching and international contest for film-makers from all around the world, who are asked to give their original artistic interpretation of the theme "Heart Speaks Unto Heart". A strong connection between cinema and the world of medicine: so much so that those who support HAB will also help ALFA – ALiance to Fight Atrial Fbrillation, the non-profit association born with the aim to make the family physicians, the community and the public opinion aware of the several problems deriving from atrial fibrillation, the most common kind of cardiac arrhythmia, currently affecting 1 out of 100 people.
The link between the event and the charitable initiative will certainly appear as an added value to any sponsor, both in terms of image and reputation returns and of tax reliefs for those who donate to benefit a non-profit organization, too.
HAB 2011 supports cinema, health and its sponsors, too. [more]
