All the accepted abstracts (oral communications and posters) will be published in a Supplement of the Journal of Cardiovascular Electrophysiology.

AWARDS
Best Communication Awards
Following the great success of the last edition, two special awards will be given to “the best communication” voted by the Abstract Reviewers between accepted oral communications and posters.

BADGE INFORMATION/LOST BADGES
Badges are nominative, not transferable and cannot be lent to anyone during VeniceArrhythmias2009. All participants are kindly requested to wear their badge throughout their permanence at the Congress Venue. The Delegate and Faculty badge allows the entrance to all scientific sessions (limited to seat availability), to the exhibition areas and to all other activities open to individual participants. The Exhibitors badge allows the entrance to the exhibition and service areas. Please consider your badge as a valuable ticket.
In case of loss, the full registration fee will be charged.

BANKING
Bank services are available at the airport and throughout the city, around Piazza San Marco.
Banks are open weekdays from 8:30 am to 13:30 pm and in the late afternoon. Venice is well supplied with cash dispensers, most of which take the major credit cards; furthermore money can be changed in the hotels during the weekend or in exchange kiosks.
The monetary unit in Italy is Euro (€).

CHANGES IN PROGRAM
For scientific and/or technical reasons the Scientific Committee, the Organizing Committee and the Organizing Secretariat reserve the right to make any change in the Workshop program.

CLIMATE AND CLOTHING
Venice has a mild and moderate climate. The weather in October might be pleasant during the day, a little bit colder at night. Formal clothing/attire is requested at the Workshop sessions.

CREDIT CARDS
Major credit cards are accepted in hotels, restaurants and shops. Should you like to pay for a boat taxi by credit card, please inform the driver immediately when you step in.

DINING
A staff member of the Organizing Secretariat will be available at the Information Desk, within the Registration Area, to provide assistance in making restaurant reservations during your stay in Venice.

FACULTY LOUNGE
A lounge will be available for Faculty. The lounge is equipped with pc, printers and internet connection; small informal meetings are possible within the lounge in the sitting room area.

INFORMATION DESK
Can’t find your way to the Plenary Session? Need a telephone number or a restaurant reservation? Stop by the Organizing Secretariat Information Desk and a representative will be able to assist you with your questions and needs regarding the meeting.

INSURANCE
Responsibility for personal accidents, loss or damages to private properties of participants and exhibitors can not be accepted. Participants and exhibitors are advised to make their own arrangements if they consider it necessary.

LANGUAGE
The official language of the Workshop is English. No simultaneous translation will be provided.

NON-SMOKING POLICY
VeniceArrhythmias2009 is a NON-SMOKING workshop; therefore, smoking is absolutely prohibited at all times in the meeting rooms, exhibition halls and restrooms. Smoking is permitted in the outdoor spaces. Your compliance is appreciated.

ORAL COMMUNICATIONS
The oral communication sessions will be held in different rooms as scheduled in the Scientific Program. The presentation time for oral communications will be 10 minutes followed by 5 minutes for discussion. All presenters are requested to keep to their allotted time and be regularly registered. Presenters and speakers must be in the session hall at least 10 minutes before the start of the session and must remain there until the end of the session.
Presentations will be given in the English language only, supported by video projection from PC only.

POSTER SESSIONS
Deadline for abstract submission: May 4 2009

The abstracts must be submitted in English, no later than April 7 2009 and sent only electronically, filling in the form included in this web site. The Scientific Committee will review all submitted papers. Selected abstracts will be accepted as oral communications or posters.

The authors of the accepted abstracts will receive notification of acceptance by May 30, 2009 , together with information regarding their presentation.

In order to present an abstract, an author - the presenter - must be regularly registered .
All the accepted abstracts (if the presenter is regularly registered within June 15 ) will be printed in a supplement of an important Journal, available at the time of the Workshop.

The presentation time for oral communication will be 10 minutes, followed by 5 minutes for discussion. Presentations will be given in the English language only.
All speakers are requested to keep to their allotted time. Please ensure that you are in your session room at least 10 minutes before the start of the session, and that you remain there until the end of the session.

The Poster Session will be held at the Poster Session Area. Poster dimensions will be 70 cm width x 100 cm height.

PROJECTION
Only PC data projection is available in every room.
All slides must be worded in English only; please copy your work – prepared in PowerPoint - on
a CD or USB pen. The Speaker Ready Room will be available for presenters and speakers to preview their slides and to become familiar with the audiovisual equipment. The use of personal laptops in the Workshop rooms is not permitted.

SESSION CAPACITY
VeniceArrhythmias2009 and the Organizing Secretariat make every attempt to place the sessions that may draw the largest attendance in the largest meeting rooms when possible. Some sessions may be very crowded and in order to accommodate as many people as possible, please find seats as far forward as possible and move to the center of the row so that chairs are available for additional attendees. As the capacity of some rooms is limited, the possibility of participation to all sessions is not guaranteed.

TRANSPORT

Airport - Marco Polo Airport
Venice has a modern airport situated in the mainland at Venice-Tessera.
You may use following transportation options:
- ATVO Line n°. 35: bus service to Piazzale Roma, 20 minute-journey, oneway ticket € 3,00
- Alilaguna service: blue and red motor boat lines to San Marco Square, 60 minute-journey, one way ticket € 12,00
- private water taxi to your hotel, 45-minute-journey, approx € 90,00 one way
Railway Station - Venice Santa Lucia Station
Venice has two railway stations: Venice-Mestre and Venice Santa Lucia.
From Venice Santa Lucia Station you can use the ACTV waterbuses that offer different transportation schedules all day long. Private taxis are available within the main exit of the station.
Motorway - A4 Motorway exit
Follow the indications to Venice parking areas of Tronchetto and/or Piazzale
Roma where you can find a variety of parking lots.
From there you can reach San Marco Square by waterbus no. 2.
