|
Dear colleagues,
we are very pleased to announce that the 11th edition of VeniceArrhythmias will take place in Venice from 4th to 7th October 2009.
VeniceArrhythmias is a biannual international workshop on cardiac arrhythmias which was first held in 1989. Since then, the meeting has steadily grown in fame and popularity and has become one of the most appreciated and well-attended events of this kind in the world. For the upcoming edition, in 2009, we expect more than 3000 participants coming from over 60 different countries.
The meeting will provide an ideal forum where faculty and attendees may meet, exchange ideas and information, and foster socialization and friendship.
Over the four days of the meeting, all the aspects of cardiac arrhythmias, from epidemiology, to pathophysiology, natural history, diagnosis, prognosis and treatment, will be simultaneously dealt in 9 different rooms by over 300 invited speakers, all internationally renowned leaders in the field of clinical arrhythmology, electrophysiology and cardiac pacing.
The main themes of VeniceArrhythmias 2009 will be anatomic-electrophysiologic correlations, atrial fibrillation, sudden death, electrical treatment of heart failure, syncope, arrhythmogenic right ventricular cardiomyopathy and other arrhythmogenic hereditary syndromes, hypertrophic cardiomyopathy, sport and arrhythmias, surgery for cardiac arrhythmias, telecardiology, remote monitoring of devices, and role of cardiac imaging in electrophysiology. Special emphasis will be given to the most recent technological developments and innovations, like robotic navigation and ablation of atrial fibrillation.
A great amount of time will be dedicated to live cases sessions, video-presentations, and interactive sessions. Unresolved and controversial issues will be the subject of several debates.
A wide and open discussion among all the participants will be allowed and encouraged.
As in the last edition, also for VeniceArrhythmias 2009, an important part of the scientific program (Corner sessions) will be directly prepared by the most prestigious Scientific Societies operating in the field of cardiac arrhythmias, like HRS and EHRA. We are very proud of this cooperation that demonstrates the high level of consideration reached by the meeting among the arrhythmological scientific community.
Attendees of VeniceArrhythmias 2009 will also have the opportunity to follow satellite symposia and luncheon panels sponsored by the Industry and to visit the exhibition area to get an insight into the latest heart rhythm management products and services.
In addition to the scientific program, an exciting social program will be provided, a welcome cocktail, a concert of Venetian music and a gala dinner in a historical Venetian building, among many other events.
Last but not the least, VeniceArrhythmias will be held in the marvellous venue of Giorgio Cini Foundation, on the island of San Giorgio Maggiore, just in front of San Marco Square. Venice is a unique city in the world that has conserved its structural integrity over the centuries and, from a natural, artistic and historical point of view, it is a veritable treasure. In Venice you can visit museums, stroll around the alleys, browse through handicraft laboratories, indulge in exclusive shopping, taste the typical local cuisine and enjoy a wealth of entertainment.
We trust that the combination of an exciting scientific and social program with the extraordinary location of VeniceArrhythmias 2009 will stimulate you to come to Venice and to actively participate in a meeting that is expected to be an unforgettable event.
Looking forward to personally welcoming you in Venice
